T O P I C R E V I E WScarlettO'HaraAre they different and if yes then which one is accurate and which one do you prefer? Does the difference matter? Mercurian IntellectYes, they're different.Tropical Astrology (Western) uses the equinoxes. Starting with the Spring Equinox; Aries, followed by the Summer Solstice; Cancer, then the Fall Equinox; Libra, finally leading up to the Winter Solstice; Capricorn. While Vedic Astrology uses the fixed constellations of the Zodiac Signs. There is no "more accurate one" because firstly, they're different, and secondly, some people relate more to their Tropical Chart, while others with their Vedic Chart. Also, Tropical Astrology leans towards a more psychological approach, while Vedic Astrology leans towards a more predictive approach.I relate to both of them, but I personally resonate better with my Vedic Chart, overall.ScarlettO'HaraSo if acc. to western astrology my moon is in scorpio and acc. to vedic one my moon is in libra, how's it gonna make the difference? I can relate to both of them, honestly! More to moon in scorpio but sometimes with moon in libra too... is it normal???somethingexcellentWhile both are practises of astrology, and they use the same concepts, they function differently and shouldn't really be compared too much.Think of the differences between French and English! While both are languages, and they use the same letters and concepts such as words/grammar, they are completely different, right? Likewise, you can still achieve the same purpose using either, it's just a matter of knowing how each one functions in its own way and treating it as such.Relating more to Western vs Vedic is like asking if you understand the word 'hi' vs 'salut' better. But there were also numerous people who relate to their Vedic Chart. You most likely relate to your Tropical Chart as well. There is probably another influence in your chart which is giving you the idea that you relate to Libra Moon as well. What is your 7th House and 7th House ruler doing?ScarlettO'Hara quote:Originally posted by somethingexcellent:While both are practises of astrology, and they use the same concepts, they function differently and shouldn't really be compared too much.Think of the differences between French and English!
